The sooner, the better for you. In interior design, measure as many times as you like, play in the project as you wish, test different variations, different colors, move walls, rebuild the compartmentation, but when you start working in the real world do it after a predetermined plan, which you should strictly respect.

In order to better illustrate the importance that we need to give to the design and planning period before going to the proper arrangement, we will present one of our projects for a family that has requested our help, from the building stage of a four-room apartment.

At the beginning, the apartment was standard divided, with two bedrooms, a guest room, a living room and a small kitchen. Unfortunately, the requirements and needs of the beneficiaries could not be satisfied with the existing functionality.

There was a large sofa in the living room and a generous relaxation space, as well as a great dinning table for meeting friends. Also, optimization of the kitchen was one of the priorities, in the idea of providing enough space for cooking, dining or doing homework by the junior of the family.

Our solution for the new compartmentalization of the space consisted in merging the guest room with the kitchen. The result was a spacious room for all the family’s activities and needs, bringing in the dinning area as well. Instead, the library was positioned in the living room, leaving enough space for relaxation, while solving several requirements from the list of beneficiaries.

Without being part of the redeployment, the bedrooms have come up with another challenge: the effective masking of the support pillars, both unsightly and functionally problematic. The solution to solve both shortcomings was to include them in the customized furniture design of the two rooms and the plating of the pillars with the same material, making them disappear visually.
