The smell of burnt wood, the heat of the fire or the sound of stubs which crackle are unmatched strengths in the cold winters, in favor of classic fireplaces, on wood. The atmosphere created and the spectacular design that enrich any space, beyond the thermal comfort it offers, make wood-burning fireplaces central points of attraction for the whole family or guests.
However, the construction of such an assembly is not very easy, requiring the consultation of specialists in the field of fire and chimneys, in order to be sure that the future operation of the fireplace will be done under maximum safety conditions. By default, the costs will be quite significant, as they can vary depending on the individual price of each component element of the assembly: fireplace, basket, heat-insulating materials, structure, clothing, exterior finishes, pipes, hot air dispersion engine and other products connected, necessary for the assembly and proper functioning of the fireplace.
Another disadvantage would be the impossibility of placing it in any place we want, being constrained by certain technical restrictions related to removing the chimney on the roof, crossing the concrete slabs between floors, the attention to beams, sanitary and electrical installations or the too large dimensions for some spaces.
For situations where the construction of such a fireplace is either impossible at a certain time, or with too many compromises and high costs, there is an alternative variant, electric fireplaces. Easier to install, without as many technical restrictions as in the case of classic fireplaces and with relatively lower costs, they manage to cover the design needs to obtain a certain aesthetic effect desired by the beneficiary, but also the practical ones, as an alternative source of heat. Comparable to furniture, they can be placed almost anywhere in the room, being the perfect solution for apartments or houses already completed.
On wood or electric, the fireplace is one of the most cherished investments in our house, especially during the winter holidays, when the playful heat of the flames gathers the whole family around it. At least for these moments, the choice of a fireplace is fully justified.
