As beneficiaries of various services throughout life, we have all lived in all sorts of situations, more or less pleasant. But by far the most frustrating periods were those in which we were at the beginning of a project, and we did not have the slightest idea of its final value. And here, I do not necessarily mean only construction and interior design, but all sorts of activities that took place over a longer period of time involved getting a certain result and implying a financial investment.Let us all remember how we felt all the time, as if we were walking on the moving sands, where each step awakened ourselves initially afraid, and then frustration, because we did not know how to get out of this unsafe situation.
In the case of architectural and interior design projects, the moving sands often turn into real swamps that swallow us altogether, choking us slowly. You have certainly heard of people who have ventured on a home-building trip and have failed to reach their destination, abandoning the route or being the victims of this jungle of construction and interior design.
“Have you ever wondered why there are such unfortunate endings?”
The answer is quite simple. Just like a hike in the woods in the mountains, it should be a joy if we do not prepare for it in time with equipment appropriate to the route and weather conditions, unless we take a map of the area or go with a guide, can suddenly become an adventure full of unexpected situations, which we will not know how to overcome them.
The same is true when implementing an interior design project, for example. Without a period of preparation prior to its commencement, without serious information about the prices of the materials or items we will need, as well as the manpower of the service teams of various specialties, without prioritizing the operations and investments to be made of their importance for the smooth running of the arrangement and its successful completion, it is very possible to go through a real traumatic adventure, both emotionally and financially.
“What’s the advantage when working with a team of professionals for whom a design project, beyond design, also means a lot of management?”
First, organizing the whole process, prioritizing the work steps and investments made. It is very possible that the transformation of a certain space into the dreamed home is a longer project than we originally thought, and that would take place in stages thought from the beginning as healthy steps towards the achievement of our goal. Like buying a lego with lots of pieces, and we are aware that we will not be able to finish it one evening, and that, until we restore the image from the box of hundreds of small pieces, it may take a month or a half a year, depending on how much time we can spend on this activity. The same is true for space planning.
Secondly, we will know how much the fitting will cost before we grab it. There are situations where the initial budget is one generous enough to be able to implement the whole project in one step.We can say that this is the ideal case in which, at the end of our collaboration with the architects and designers we will know exactly how to invest each penny, in what direction and in what order. But even in the situation of lower budgets, insufficient for full implementation, there are achievable solutions over time. The project will be in a minimum possible budget and the order of investments will be determined according to the priorities of a reasonable living, and patiently, the beneficiaries will complete the remainder of the puzzle in the rhythm of the financial possibilities until the image of the on the box, that is the design by the design company with the lowest possible budget.
As a conclusion, I think it’s time to become aware of all, beneficiaries, designers or architects alike, that it has passed the time of budgeting, when the project first was done, and then see the borrower from where to borrow to finish the house.
Our happiness does not come from the price of lighting fixtures or unique pieces of furniture, which we will be afraid to lay down, just as we will not necessarily be happier after we move home from apartment or from a smaller and modest house to a larger and more luxurious one.
“Happiness is an inner state and can not be” bought “with material goods.”
So, it is not justified to work to translate into reality an illusion of external happiness, but it is worth creating a home in which we really feel “home” with our loved ones. And for this we need harmony and balance between aesthetic, functional and financial, by discovering together with the specialists we engage in what makes us feel at home in a space, those details that really bring us joy , the definition we give to comfort, as well as all activities, hobbies and ways in which we spend time in the family.
We wish you all the pleasant fun of this beautiful journey of discovering and creating that “home” of your soul, perfectly tailored to your needs and dreams, in your comfortable budget, so that the years spent there are just a reason joy. Farewell!
