The restaurant is generally the physical space in which the design of the rooms harmoniously blends, the arrangement of the tables, the aromas of the plates with the scent of smells, the music from the sun and the kindness of the staff, creating for the client an atmosphere of story, mind, body and soul, alike.

“Torro El Comandante”, between classical and contemporary

A restaurant with such an imposing name, “Torro El Comandante”, and with a stylized symbol, a stylized bull’s head, located in a classic bohemian building, is a challenge for choosing the design line to do the link between name firmness and location delicacy.

 

Thus, we intertwined the details of the two major elements of the concept, logo and headquarters, bringing them visually into the created interior. The elegant white of the house is found in the white of the pieces of furniture, whose simple and elegant design contributes to the harmony of the whole. The classical architecture of the building has been preserved both indoors and outdoors, through all the decorative elements on the ceilings, door and window frames, or lighting fixtures in a contemporary re-interpretation. The modern design layout was brought to the floor, opting for the creation of a dynamic hexagonal ceramic tile combined with laminate flooring. In some areas, in the lobby or in the bathrooms, for practical and hygienic reasons, the hexagons also climb the walls, continuing the same game on the floor.

A culinary concept created around beef can only lead to a visual concept that highlights the central figure, the Torro bull.

 

The overall color of the arrangement is based on light beige and gray shades, found in the color of lime and decorative plaster chosen for walls and ceilings, as well as in the shades of curtains or tablecloths, in contrast to the white furniture and decorative profiles on walls. The chromatic neutrality of the general framework is designed to create the space to illuminate the central figure of the Torro El Comandante. The restaurant’s specificity is to prepare the beef steak so that the whole concept was created around a “bull”. Starting from the red stylized bull of the logo, the decoration of the interior was pigmented with details and red accents found in paintings, decorative pillows, tableware or tablecloths.

The entire ensemble created comes to support its customers by completing an exceptional culinary experience. “The food is eaten for the first time …”
