The long-awaited spring appears as every year, gradually in its fullness. Since March, nature calls us outdoors in the garden for the early works after the snow melting. After finishing the spring cleaning labors (raking, gathering and burning / throwing of vegetal remains), in some areas you will need to dig the ground and incorporate the nutrients left in maceration over winter (natural fertilizer purchased from the trade or directly from poultry farms, household scraps that have turned into organic compost, etc.). Soil preparation for the new planting season is a basic condition when we want to enjoy the new year, not just the chromatic wealth of the flowers in the garden, but also the exuberance of the fruits and vegetables grown in our yard.
For mini-vegetable gardens and vegetable gardening, an aesthetic but also very practical method for making the layers is their delimitation with thin concrete strips and cant, ground level with fertile soil and organic fertilizers. Between the layers we recommend gravel alleys (sort or crushed stone of smaller size) to provide easy access to your vegetable garden, even in rainy weather without dirtying you and sidewalks.
The width of such a layer would be ideal not to exceed more than double the distance to which you easily reach inside the layer at its edge. The length, however, is determined only by the positioning of the layers on the existing terrain. And if we are talking about their location, we must not forget that plants need as much light as possible, so choose the place with the longest exposure to the sun over a day.
Another aspect that needs to be taken into account, from the very beginning, is irrigation of the layers, to get rich crops without much effort on your part. Our recommendation is to use dripping hoses, distributed at equal distances, over the entire length of the layers, as to ensure proper irrigation of each row of plants. With the help of a programming device, you will ensure that the layers are irrigated as long as you set, depending on the water needs of the different seedlings, as well as the temperature differences during the gardening season. The humidity sensor will take care that on rainy days it stops the water supply of the system so that there is no risk of rotting the crops.
To further improve the maintenance of the vegetable area, after laying the hoses, it is possible to cover the whole surface of the soil with a special foil for planting the seedlings in the equally spaced meshes. Thus, an increased moisture level will be ensured even on very hot days, as well as the elimination of unwanted plants between cultures due to the lack of optimum conditions under the wrap.
Once these layers are made, with easy access and clean, programmed irrigation system according to the types of crops on each surface and antibacterial foil, you ensure yourself for many years of tasty crops at your home, with minimal effort and maximum satisfaction. Good luck!
